| Each
of the three awards consists of a cash prize of Rs. 5 Lacs,
a Commendatory Scroll and a Memento. Only individuals who
are Indian Nationals and institutions based in India and doing
work of a very high standard in India would be eligible for
these awards. Normally only work carried out during recent
times would merit consideration. One major criteria for making
the Award would relate to the benefits reaching the Economically
and the Socially backward sections of the community e.g. SC
/ STs and women. Moreover, such institutions or individuals
should be sponsored by others who are not directly associated
with the management of such institutions.
