1 ) Shri Bharat Amritlal Kothari
hails from the drought prone Banaskantha District of Gujarat. He is passionate in the cause of saving animals from the slaughter houses and is facing 300 trials in different courts. He has saved animals even at the cost of grave personal danger.During drought he had rescued and provided shelter to thousands of cattle / animals in his gaushala at Rajpur Village in Banaskantha District in Gujarat. He has saved the lives of seven newly born children abandoned by their parents and had also arranged their adoption into childless families. He is a source of inspiration to those who consider all forms of life precious and inter-dependent.
   
2 ) Dr. Shiv Kumar Sarin was instrumental in getting universal Hepatitis B vaccination introduced in the State of Delhi and Sikkim. His classification of gastric varices “Sarin’s classification” identification of a new disease entity “portal biliopathy” is widely recognized. His work with hepatitis B virus infected patients and its prevention is a land mark in the country. He has created public awareness about Hepatitis by launching the “Yellow Ribbon Campaign” and by initiating “Hepatitis Awareness Day” on December 4, 1998.He is not only helping the society to eradicate the menace of hepatitis and liver diseases by his untiring efforts but has also dedicated his life to the service of suffering humanity as the “poor man’s liver doctor’.Dr. Sarin is a Trustee of a Charitable Trust, Udayan Care, which looks after nearly 100 underprivileged children. He is considered a very humane, humble and compassionate physician.

3 ) Acharya Dr. Kishore Kunal has got to his credit, the setting up of a number of institutions like the Mahavir Arogya Sansthan, Mahavir Cancer Institute, Mahavir Netralaya and Mahavir Vaatsalaya which caters to the deprived and disadvantaged sections of the society. He is instrumental in getting a number of students their scholarships and free medical treatment.

His special area of interest has been to serve the Dalit and the neglected sections of the society and has a number of success stories to his credit. It was due to his revolutionary step that a Dalit was appointed as the priest in the Mahaveer temple in Patna who is performing all rituals.  Dalits got entry in the temple after 70 years struggle.

He has been visiting all such places in caste ridden Bihar where there has been religious discrimination against Dalits and their entries in the temple have been blocked or resisted.  By convincing people of opposite views he has succeeded in harmonious settlement of such disputes.

He is the author of “Dalit - Devo Bhav” a book which bears testimony of Shri Kunal’s commitment to Dalit cause. When in service in 1991 as an IPS Officer he was instrumental in the smooth conduct of the negotiations between the Hindus and Muslims religious leaders on the Ayodhya dispute.
